Weekly newsletter about digital art, NFTs, crypto, venture capital, and Internet culture with absolutely no shilling whatsoever.
Welcome to Zero Shillings: the no BS guide to digital art x commerce (NFTs) by me, Paul Griffiths. On Twitter, I write short-form about art, commerce, tech, VCs, and NFTs. I also poke fun @ social media grifters, of which there are many.
Zero Shillings is my way to move to long-form conversations and derives its name from the fact that it is:
a) free - I will not charge for this newsletter
b) not secretly advancing an agenda (e.g. shilling for a coin)
c) decidedly against such shilling in social media (or in life in general)
My intent of this newsletter is to find a safe, non-commercialized way to discuss the most interesting cultural phenomenon happening on the web right now.
So why free?
I’m currently a PhD student at the Lisbon School of Economics where I study digital creators, celebrity, & payments (NFTs). The newsletter is a way for me to pursue a variety of research interests and contribute to the real time conversation.
In my prior life, I had a career as a bootstrapped founder, selling my company to a publicly-traded global entity, and a career as a creative writer, in which I earned a Masters Degree. Really, I have nothing to sell you, which I believe is uniquely valuable in a world full of hype-men, grifters, and phonies.
If anything, my mission is to cut through the noise around these new forms of media and give you a level-headed, un-biased guide to changing cultural landscape.
Look, I’m optimistic about the changes coming but a realist about human nature. The newsletter is hype-free. I hope you’ll like it.
